Whether in the sewage industry or petrochemical industry, the pump is the most commonly used machinery and equipment, but also more prone to problems with machinery and equipment, once the pump fails, must be based on specific problems, the actual analysis, should follow the principle of first outside and then inside, do not operate blindly.
First of all: the power supply should be inspected: whether the connector is firmly connected; whether the switch is in good contact; whether the fuse is blown; whether the three-phase supply is missing or not. If there is a broken circuit, poor contact, blown fuse, missing phase, the cause should be identified and repaired in time. Secondly: check whether the pump itself is a mechanical failure.
Fault I. Pump won't start
Common causes: packing is too tight or blocked by debris accumulation between the impeller and the pump body; pump shaft, bearing, leakage reduction ring rusted; pump shaft is seriously bent, etc.
Removal methods: relax the packing and unclog the water channel; dismantle the pump body to remove debris and rust; remove the pump shaft for correction or replace it with a new one.
Fault 2, insufficient flow
Causes: mostly air leakage from the suction pipe and bottom valve; blockage of the water inlet; insufficient depth of the bottom valve into the water; too low pump speed; excessive wear of the sealing ring or impeller; excessive suction height, etc.
Removal methods: check the suction pipe and bottom valve, block the source of air leakage; clean the silt or blockage at the water inlet; the depth of the bottom valve into the water must be greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the inlet pipe, increase the depth of the bottom valve into the water; check the power supply voltage, increase the pump speed, replace the sealing ring or impeller; reduce the installation position of the pump, or replace the high head pump.
Fault three, can not suck water
Causes: There is air in the pump or air inlet pipe, or the bottom valve is not tightly closed, the filling of water is not enough, the vacuum pump packing leakage is strong, the gate valve or flapping door is not closed tightly.
1、First put the water pressure up, then fill the pump body with water, then turn on the machine. At the same time, check whether the check valve is tight and whether there is air leakage in the pipeline and joints. If air leakage is found, apply lubricating oil or blending paint at the joints after disassembly and twist the screws tightly.
2、Check the oil seal ring of the pump shaft, if it is badly worn it should be replaced with new parts.
3. Water or air leaks from the pipeline. The nut may not be tightly screwed when it is installed. If the leakage is not serious, you can apply cement or cement slurry mixed with asphalt oil to the place where the air or water is leaking. Temporary repairs can be made by applying some wet mud or soft soap. If water is leaking at the joints, tighten the nuts with a spanner. If the leakage is serious, you must reassemble and replace the cracked pipe; lower the head and press the pump's mouth into the water by 0.5m.
Fault four, the pump does not produce water
Causes: The pump body and suction pipe are not filled with priming water; the dynamic water level is lower than the pump filter pipe; the suction pipe is broken, etc.
Removal methods: exclude the bottom valve failure, fill up the pilot water; lower the installation position of the pump, so that the filter water pipe under the dynamic water level, or wait for the dynamic water level to rise filter water pipe and then pump; repair or replace the suction pipe.
Fault five, the pump body violent vibration or produce noise
Causes: The pump is not firmly installed or the pump is installed too high; the motor ball bearing is damaged; the pump spindle is bent or is not centred or parallel to the motor spindle, etc.
Treatment: Install a stable pump or lower the installation height of the pump; replace the motor ball bearing; correct the bent pump spindle or adjust the relative position of the pump and the motor.
Fault six, excessive power consumption
Causes: pump speed is too high; pump spindle is bent or pump spindle and motor spindle are not centered or parallel; choose pump head is not suitable; pump inhalation mud and sand or blockage; motor ball bearing is damaged, etc.
Treatment: check the circuit voltage, reduce the pump speed; correct the pump spindle or adjust the relative position of the pump and the motor; choose a pump with a suitable head; clean the mud and sand or blockage; replace the ball bearing of the motor.
Fault 7, drive shaft or motor bearing overheating
Causes: Lack of lubrication or broken bearings, etc.
Treatment: Lubricate or replace the bearings.
